The Yorkshire Nature Practitioners Network is being launched to support, nurture and gather the varied and dynamic community of people, working with Nature in Yorkshire.

I am gathering a collective of Nature inspired and connected Yorkshire folk. Who truly care about the Natural world, and our human health within it.

Signing up is totally free, with a range of events  and community time for you to access.

In our current poly-crisis our roles with and in Nature have amplified in importance. Our work helps people back to health, connection, appreciation and even community. When people spend time with the Natural world, evidence is growing to support the fact that relationship means they care more about their place on the planet. And as we all know time in Nature helps people be healthier, happier and kinder humans too.

Is that the future you are working for?  Me too! Join the Yorkshire Nature Practitioner Network and find out a little more what it's all about. â€‹â€‹

First let me introduce myself

If you don't already know me. Hi, I am JK. Coach, Facilitator and Founder of Where the Mind Grows. I took my first coaching client out to the woods  in 2019, two years after starting my own coaching business,  and I have never looked back. Growing a business that works with and alongside the wild, helping individuals and teams find meaning, enhance well-being and create aligned and caring approaches with the Natural world.

We only have to look to the forest to see how important collaboration and community is. And I am creating the YNPN for the wonderful humans of Yorkshire who provide services and opportunities for society to connect more deeply with the natural world.

I have decades of experience facilitating dynamic groups and holding space for emergence, so I figured why not create a space I know will enrich my own life and business too as well as bringing awesome, interesting people together (who knows what wonderful stuff could happen!)

The Yorkshire Nature Practitioners Network will aim to cultivate a nurturing community space where we can

  • Connect as humans in real life wild and nature connected events

  • Quarterly online check-ins for connection

  • Share our business offerings and support each other through networking and connection.

  • Showcase the diverse offerings we have for reconnecting with the Natural world.

  • Practice development and reflection, helping practitioners reflect on their work and grows insight.

  • Well-being and vitality - A supportive group where we can share challenges in business. practice  and ensure our own health and well-being is at the forefront of our work.

  • Amplify our impact and work collectively supporting and platforming our work together. Broadening reach and impact. Ensuring our work is sustainable and enriching.

I am setting this network up as a volunteer, as I believe so strongly in the power of community (and this is a great way to discover new nature collaborators for some of my own events).

The work we do is amazing and important. We need a space to remember that for ourselves.

I'll be asking for a small donation at in person events to support with risk assessing, venue hire where required, refreshments, coordinating and marketing to help grow the network.

Here is my three year vision for the network
Just like Nature, nothing is linear so this vision is open to evolution based on members needs and values.

So what actually is it?

I have no intention of creating another online directory and I want to keep systems as simple as possible.  The Yorkshire Nature Practitioners Network will focus on creating human-to-human connection between professionals and practitioners in the Yorkshire Nature space/sector.  Offering networking, connection, well-being and reflection space.  With a quarterly catch up on Zoom too, for those who cannot make in person events or dates.

When you become a YNPN member in 2026 you:

  • You sign up for free  and will receive a welcome email detailing our first in person event,  zoom catch up dates and how to sign up for both events.

  • You'll receive an possibly-slightly-irregular email - based on my energy, time,  inspiration and events - likely  every other month with news, information and as we grow membership showcases and contributions will be part of this.

  • Member Only invitations to quarterly online zoom for an hour of connection, and some zoom-room chit chat., based on seasonal themes. and membership needs.

  • Member Only invitations to in person events where we will typically have 3 hours together in Nature spaces to:

    • Network and Connect as humans not just business/work people

    • Showcase a skill, service or strength from & for the group (member selected up front at random)

    • Space for our own well-being and nature connection - for self, nothing else!

    • Time for reflective practice or a business/professional 'case' clinic to help 'unravel knots & stuck points' Facilitated by JK (me) focusing either on one individual challenge of a membership chosen theme.

That's it (for now) -As we grow in membership and time together you'll have your own say in shaping the vision of the community too.

The free membership and events are open for Nature Practitioners living and/or working in Yorkshire.

You may be running your own business or employed within the field of Nature.  My hope is this network is mega diverse from coaches and therapists, forages and adventurous and trackers, wood whittles and nature crafting folk, to conservations, artists and cookery.  This is a place of reciprocity and connection. For nature professionals looking for a community to be part of.
