Nurtured Workplaces Nature-Led Team & Organisational Well-being

Things happen naturally around here!

Most organisations know their people are their greatest asset. Yet finding the conditions that help your team thrive in a world that is often over-busy and where workplaces often feel stretched or tentative of the next change, and most leaders and teams confess that things aren't the way they would like them to be when it comes to team well-being, psychological safety and the chance to make space, be innovative and amplify team connection, cohesion and confidence.

It's not usually down to bad intent. It's the pressure, the pace, the funding constraints, the sector norms, the unspoken culture that has accidentally formed over years of survival or over-busy modes of working. It's the gap between the kind of organisation you want to be and the one that gets produced under relentless demand.

That gap is exactly where our work together begins.

And being in and alongside Nature is just one of the ways we ensure that real life, and sustainable solutions find their way to you and the collective team.

What the forest knows about this:

A forest under constant stress, drought, extraction, poor soil;  doesn't just underperform. It loses the very networks and relationships that keep it resilient. The mycorrhizal connections  (Fungi under the soil) that share nutrients, the root systems that steady each other in storms, without a nurtured approach, the forest struggles and new approaches need adapting. But Nature rarely lets things get this drastic. Its ability to value basic needs and collective strive for conditions of health mean it shows mastery in change-management and communication . Organisations under chronic pressure have the same risks. Relationships, innovation, collaboration, trust and energy - these go first when things are over-busy or you and your team don't have time to stay rooted, nourish your culture and create safe and diverse conditions to enrich your impact. That's not a metaphor. It's a pattern, and it has solutions, its those solutions we find together in the woods.

Who is this for?

Where the Mind Grows Nurtured Workplaces approaches work particularly well with purpose-driven, values-led organisations: charities, social enterprises, voluntary sector bodies, health and social  care providers, creative organisations, and mission-driven businesses.

But we also see the value we bring to busy corporate teams as well, who know they need to adapt for people and planet (Whether its ESG that nudges you or a HR leader worried about the level of burnout and sickness in your team).

The kind of people who got into this work because they genuinely care and are now experiencing the personal - or collective - challenge of that.

I was a senior leader in the public, private and charity health world for many years. I know how it feels to be caught between the organisation's needs, your team's wellbeing, and your own. Visioning the ideal and yet constantly only finding the time and energy for the every day basics. You're situation will be unique of course, and I am here to help you understand the opportunities that can come from where you find yourselves now.

Not some 'wouldn't it be nice if' or 'when we get round to...' or 'once it is a little quieter'. I'll support you and the team to be curious about what can happen in small, simple and significant steps to help create nurtured workplace cultures and takes steps towards well-being, where no one gets left behind (Including you dear Leader!)

The work here isn't a wellness add-on. It's a fundamental exploration about how your organisation or team functions, the light and the shade and what can happen when we design and adapt your team to regenerative and living systems principles explored together in the wild.

Individual coaching for employees who are struggling, stuck, or navigating significant challenge — whether that's mental health, career direction, stress, or the kind of quiet loss of confidence that builds up over time.

Sessions can be funded through the Access to Work scheme  a government programme that can cover or significantly subsidise coaching costs for eligible employees with long term health conditions or disability. This matters, because it means quality, one-to-one nature-based coaching can be accessible to a wider remit of employees

Away days that actually change something. Your team join me in the woods- into the North Yorkshire landscape or at a wild space near you. A chance for  honest exploration, connection and consideration. From communication, trust, collective energy, shared direction or overall well-being. From managing conflict or adversity to finding resilience in constant change.

Nature-based team development isn't just a nice backdrop. The natural environment supports relaxation, calm and creative and helps teams connect and thing innovatively.  The landscape itself becomes a mentor.  What gets explored doesn't stay in the wild.  We focus on what you take back and what you are ready to compost. To help healthier stuff thrive instead.

Contributing to cultures of balance and flow, not burnout and over-whelm. Public programme next runs 2027 or can run 'in house' at any time of year,.

Think Like A Forest

Regenerative Organisations

Think Like A Forest draws on the principles of ecology and biomimicry & regenerative approaches. Inviting your team to explore how do healthy, complex natural systems manage diversity, resource, change, and renewal without burning out?

Forests are extraordinarily good at being resilient, adaptive, and regenerative over long timescales. They do it without a strategy document. There are principles underneath that, and they translate  remarkably practically — to organisations. Our two frameworks alongside a breadth of resources help you discover a way to do business aligned with life, not against it or extractive of it.

Taking you beyond sustainability and ESG.

This is for leaders , change-makers and teams ready to think differently for people and planet.  It's uncommon work, and leads to adaptive and resourceful outcomes.

Living Systems Thinking

Partnership Facilitation

If you work in a partnership, collective or across a range of stakeholders.

Partnership facilitations brings teams or individuals across organisations. Cultivating space, mutuality and creative to explore topics like impact, best practice, collaboration or something completely different.

Skilled facilitation offers that neutral perspective to help you find your way through topics, identify actions and understand the impact and values that matter working collectively.  The space in the wood opens up a whole new way of working together, whilst support individual well-being through Nature connection. For partnership forums, multi-agency working groups, and cross-sector collaboration. I create the conditions for honest conversation, collective decision-making, and relationships that actually connect and adapt.

What makes this different?

A lot of workplace well-being offers are well-intentioned but can be underwhelming. They tick a box somewhere, smooth the surface or quench the temporary thirst. A day of activities followed by a return to exactly the same conditions. A leadership training that inspires for a fortnight and then fades, or leaves you thinking you probably could have done a better job.

I like to work with organisations open to long term change, curious about what difference can actually be made (even if we only meet for a day) and hold genuine values that call you to improve your culture, empower your team and ensure you aren't left behind in all that either.

When we begin to see your organisation, your team and even yourself as an ecosystem. Interconnected. We can explore the complexity AND discover solutions, possibilities and problems. Without a day deflating everyone with the challenges, stuckness and hopelessness that can nudge its way into busy workplaces, and overwhelmed teams.

So why is Where the Mind Grows Nurtured Workplaces offerings different? Firs;  the work is rooted in living systems thinking  we look at culture, structures, dynamics and conditions, not just individual behaviours or problems.

Second Nature is both a context and a set of principles to learn and live by.  You are not just learning IN Nature but from it too.

An asset based approach to your team combines trauma informed practice (understanding everyone has life experiences and adversities that inform their well-being at work) and psychological safety (a culture of openness, trust, courage and collaboration) that ensures everyone gets a voice, finds purpose, creates impact and can share the challenges that get in the way of thriving.

Sometimes its not always about the whole team and over the year's one-to-one employee coaching and leadership sessions have also helped the team to thrive. Particularly where a well-being concern, long term health condition or neurodivergence means you're team need a different or diverse approach to help them thrive at work.

Let's start a conversation

Every piece of Nurtured Workplaces work with Where the Mind Grows starts with a free 30 -minute consultation. A chance to explore, ask questions and discuss opportunities.

You might be coming with an idea of which of the options above could be ideal for your team, or perhaps you just want to explore this with someone with an external perspective to help you become clear on options. Whether we end up working together, or not. Our conversations are a confidential space you can be open and honest about the challenges, needs and aims of your team and organisation.

Or email info@wherethemindgrows.co.uk directly. I'll always reply personally.
