Welcome to Rooted Self, where nature meets reflection. As a Nature-led Coach, I guide one-to-one sessions designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and grow, whether that’s walking through local green spaces, immersing yourself in the woods, or meeting online from home.

  • Walk & Talk Sessions: movement to enhance wellness, time to reflect, and spark clarity.

  • Sessions in the Woods: Deeply reconnect with nature and your senses. Pause for focus, realignment and confidence in your next steps. 

  • Online Sessions: Sessions that fit with where ever you are, helping you bring nature in, in subtler ways. Whilst focusing on our aims and intentions of coaching. 

Each session is an opportunity to root yourself, nurture curiosity, and explore what matters to you, in a pace and setting that feels right for you.

Rooted Self: Nature-Led Life & Career Coaching

There's a version of you that gets things done, seemingly holds things together, shows up for everyone else. And then there's the version that's longing for a moment of space, a bit of honesty, and permission to do things differently and be your true self. 

Rooted Self  explores  one-to-one coaching for people who feel like something is a little off, unbalanced or lost and confused.  In your career, your confidence, sense of self,  or their ability to simply feel ok on a regular basis. You are capable and curious you might already know,  what needs to change or feel over-whelmed or unsure and need some help to figure that out too. It's in there and it's possible, you just need the conditions to find your way and create the difference. 

 

That's what we create together. Conditions, inside and out, that help you feel more deeply connected to who you are and want to be, find clarity in decisions. Support with emotions, behaviours, inner talk and the beliefs that help or hinder you. From the woods in Yorkshire, or occasionally online.  Coaching helps you get from where you are, to where you want to be. Focusing on valuing your uniqueness, and exploring life in a way that works with you, not in tension to your world.

What brings people here?

There's no single story. But there are some recurring ones.

 

I work with adult men and women, finding themselves at junctures of their life. Whether it's time to make decisions, let go of ideals, heal from adversity, seek support with well-being or re-design their whole life and career. 

The person who's been successful by most external measures and still feels something missing inside. The one navigating a career that no longer fits, but can't quite see the way out or know how or where to begin looking. The one whose anxiety has started to run the show in ways it didn't used to, stripping away their joy and freedom. The person standing in the aftermath of grief,  loss or adversity, wondering where to go with life, with this new meaning and experience. The one who has always put everyone else first and is only now,  reluctantly, tiredly,  wondering what it might be like to invest in themselves, create new boundaries or find a new rhythm. Then there are those who discover something new about themselves, or face a significant life change, a diagnosis, a long term health condition, a relationship ending, redundancy or kids leaving home. What now? Who Now? That adventure begins. 

All have something in common. A longing to craft a beautiful and wholesome life, where simple things feel more valued then extravaganzas, yet the ideas of adventure and expansion is as appealing as a cosy night in by the fire, or a connected moment with friends or family. 

 

Oh and it probably goes without saying, but the idea of Nature being part of this experience. That adds something for you, doesn't it. It does for me too, so you're in good company.

How I work with you...

Sessions are held  usually held at the woodland I lease near Ripon, or as walk and talks a select venues across West & North Yorkshire , at a pace that suits you. If you're not local, or life occasionally demands it, we work online via zoom and bring a bit of the wild into the session that way.

 

Most one-to-one sessions runs for around 90 minutes. A mix of conversation, reflection,  practical coaching tools, and the kind of thinking that happens more easily when you're moving through a landscape, in the woodland surrounded by birdsong and trees rather than sitting across a desk in an office somewhere. 

 

There is no one-size fits all approach with coaching alongside me and the woods. I value your unique experiences, circumstances and perspectives meaning everyone's session experience and approach looks different. 

I draw on:

  • Accredited coaching principles

  • Neuroscience and nervous system regulation;  understanding what's happening in your body, not just your head

  • Psychology-informed approaches including Neurolinguistics Programming (NLP), M-Braining, Metaphors of Movement, Motivational Interviewing, Transactional Analysis, Non Violent Communication & Trauma Informed Practice (+more)

  • IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) for shifting the emotional charge attached to memories and beliefs specifically single trauma and adversity experiences. 

  • Ecopsychology and nature-based practice  using the natural world as both a resource and a mirror. Including Biomimicry (Learning from Nature's design and approach) and Regenerative Leadership (Life and Work in alignment with the Natural world and thriving conditions)

 

It's grounded, practical, and evidence-based. Whilst allowing room for playful, creative, spontaneous and adaptive approaches.  You'll receive focused attention freed of judgement, useful challenge,   people and planet centred values and a process that starts from your strengths, not your deficits.

Most people benefit from 2-6 sessions on average. But everyone is different.

Things to know

Coaching sessions last 90 minutes 

They are delivered in person at a private woodland near Ripon, North Yorkshire (HG34PU), as walk and talk sessions across public parks and woodland (subject to suitability) or online via zoom. 

Most clients typically benefit from 2-6 sessions. Spread between every 2-6 weeks on average Each person is different. 

Pay As You Go £175, Packages available in 3 (£475) or £895 (rising to £945 from June 2026)

Payments are requested through the booking links

You'll be asked to review the coaching agreement and complete the client registration form ahead of beginning your first session

Integral Eye Movement Therapy

IEMT is a research-backed approach for shifting the emotional burdens attached to difficult memories/experiences, limiting beliefs, and identities that have overstayed their welcome, stop you from doing things, or keep you stuck. It often works quickly, and it works deeply and sessions in the woods helps with additional emotional regulation techniques. The landscape holds the session in a way very different to a room or online.
