About the Wild Workspaces 'work-away' residential
wed 9th - fri 11th july 25
How many times of you felt yourself procrastinating, losing focus or feeling over-whelmed in your working day?

The hustle of modern day work (and life) pace means few of us, ever get the chance for 'big-picture' strategic thinking, planning and innovative creative space.

Just as we are grappling this space for spacious thinking, planning and creating.
We're also finding ourselves increasingly lacking in restful and replenishing time for ourselves!

And this is exactly what Wild Workspaces 'Work-Away' retreat has to offer.

A few years ago I founded Wild Workspaces Co-Working 'pop-up' events.
A place to come together and work in the wild!
Born out of reports of post-lockdown remote-working loneliness, the growing communities of co-working culture and Where the Mind Grows core aim to help more people rekindle their wild connection with Nature in a way that also enhances their mental health and well-being.
After a day of working amongst the Yorkshire vista, listening to bird song, or catching a glimpse of a deer in the woods. People wanted more.

But it wasn't just this inspiring setting they desired.

Working in and connected with Nature offers a unique aspect to your work.
It helps you slow down, adapt, focus and create. With adaptation in your usual technology and the spacious delight of our wild venue, there's the urge to switch your 'roaming' online for 'roaming' the woods.
To disappear with a notebook and coloured pens, to let old-school hand-writing flow with ideas, or maybe lay restfully on the grass staring at the sky and allowing inspiration to emerge unexpected in this natural setting.

Our experience is, that when you choose to slow down, re-connect unexpected and wonderful things can happen for you and yout business or role! Lots can happen, when you feel as if your doing not much!

Of course, you can tether the internet with your phone if you so wish. But we've found that our wild workspace community lean into this new view and a different perspective on a productive day.

At our wild workspaces 'work-away', perhaps you'll write blogs amongst trees, sit by the fire to network naturally with no pressure or forced conversation, or plan your annual strategy gaining new insights and ideas for business or life.

Where purposefulness will find new definitions & opportunities, working in the wild. You'll also be reaping deep and connected value of time in nature for mind and body too. Making this break with Nature a regenerative one too.

All in a days wild work!

This is that time and space you desire for yourself and your business, when you stare out the window or find yourself lost of focus or energy, swinging aimlessessly and restlessly in your office chair.

Protected time for creative, low tech thinking and exploring with time for wellness too.

Nature is Where the Mind Grows and I want to support more great and purposefully impactful organisations, leaders and founders to have well-being at the core of your success, whilst also helping you make your impact.

The geeky stuff: How the wild can help you and your business!
Nature as a Strategic Catalyst:
In our hyper-connected, digitally saturated business landscape, the most innovative leaders are discovering an unexpected source of strategic insight: the wilderness. Far from being a mere escape, time spent in nature offers profound, measurable benefits for business strategy, leadership development, and creative problem-solving.

Cognitive Restoration and Strategic Thinking Natural environments act as a powerful reset button for the executive brain. Research consistently shows that exposure to natural settings reduces cognitive fatigue, enhances creative thinking, and improves complex problem-solving abilities. The unstructured complexity of natural landscapes mirrors the intricate challenges of business strategy, allowing leaders to perceive patterns and connections that remain obscured in traditional office environments.

Stress Reduction and Decision-Making Clarity Chronic stress suffocates strategic thinking an innovation. Natural settings trigger physiological relaxation responses that lower cortisol levels (stress hormone), reduce mental noise, and create space for more considered decision-making. Leaders who regularly immerse themselves in nature find it can increased emotional intelligence, improved resilience, and a more balanced approach to organisational challenges.

Systems Thinking and Ecological Leadership Nature provides the ultimate masterclass in complex systems. Ecosystems demonstrate remarkable adaptability, interconnectedness, and resilience—precisely the qualities modern organisations need. By observing natural systems, leaders can develop more holistic, adaptive strategic approaches that prioritise sustainability, interdependence, and long-term thinking. As a regenerative leadership coach, our events weave living systems thinking, biomimicry and ecopsychology into our experiences.

Catalysing Creativity and Innovation The seemingly random yet intricate patterns of natural environments stimulate divergent thinking. Fractals in tree branches, the unpredictable flow of rivers, and the complex interactions of ecosystem inhabitants offer powerful metaphors and inspiration for innovative business solutions. Many breakthrough ideas have emerged not in boardrooms, but during moments of quiet observation in natural settings.

Technological Detox and Authentic Connection In an era of constant digital bombardment, nature offers a rare opportunity for genuine, uninterrupted reflection. Disconnecting from screens and reconnecting with natural rhythms allows leaders to tap into deeper wells of intuition, empathy, and strategic vision.

Beyond Professional Development to Holistic Leadership: The benefits extend beyond immediate strategic advantages. Regular engagement with nature cultivates a leadership approach characterised by patience, humility, and a broader understanding of interconnected systems. It transforms leadership from a transactional role to a more holistic, regenerative practice. It can also support you in being more compassionate and connected leader for your inner self.

Emerging Research and Validation Cutting-edge research in environmental psychology, neuroscience, and organisational behaviour continues to validate the profound impact of nature on cognitive function, creativity, and leadership effectiveness. Forward-thinking organisations are increasingly integrating nature-based approaches into their development, with direct impact being and doing, in natural surrounds.

A Call to Reimagine Leadership Strategic insight isn't confined to conference rooms and spreadsheets. It emerges from a deeper, more nuanced engagement with the world around us—a world that has been solving complex adaptive challenges for billions of years.

Nature isn't just a backdrop to business—it's a great mentor and teacher, waiting to help transform how we think, lead, and create.
